February 7th Updates

Friday, February 7th 2020

Dear Grade 3 Families,

This was our last week with our wonderful student teacher Ms. May! While this was her first practicum placement in a school, she did a really great job bonding with your students and helping them to learn. She did guided reading, gave writing assignments, marked editing work, taught and marked math, gave lessons in Social Studies, and even taught our class about the First Nations 7 Sacred Teachings! She will most definitely be missed in our 3A room! Thank you Ms. May for your time with us!

 

In Math this week we continued to work on multiplication, learning how to multiply 1 and 0, and use multiplication charts! Continue practicing this work online here: Multiplication Cat!

In Literacy, we wrote in our new red journals, we edited some incorrect paragraphs, we practiced our typing on typingclub.com, we played POP, and read online with Raz-Kids and Tumblebooks!

 

For Social Studies, we worked on our very own folktales, typing them up on the computers. We will be sharing some of that work at our Assembly on February 28th at 12:30pm! Please join us!

In Science we continued working with our Hearing & Sound centers.

KEY REMINDERS:

1.    Skating forms are due by Monday so that we can go skating next week! If your student does not bring in their form, they cannot skate with our class.

2.    Crime Not to Read pizza forms are due back by Monday as well so your family can have pizza at the event on February 19th!

Feb 12 - Making Valentines in class to take home

Feb 13-17 - Long Weekend (no school)

Feb 19 - Pizza Party at Country Hills Library for Crime not to Read

Feb 28 - Grade 3 Assembly in the gym from 12:15-1:30pm.

March 6 - CAD day #2!
