Friday January 17th Update

What a cold week in Calgary! Thankfully it looks like the 20th-24th are going to be much nicer and the students will get some much needed time outdoors!

This week we had It’s A Crime Not to Read in again! The police officers read some very funny books! Plus, the librarians told us about our Pizza Party next month!! It’s on February 19th, from 6:00-7:30pm. If you would like to have some pizza, please fill out the form and send it back to school by February 10th! (The pizza is free, but please only bring immediate family members)

Scholastic orders are due in Tuesday, January 21st. If you order online more than $30, you get a free book with the code!

In Math we moved from repeated addition, to skip counting! We are well on our way to multiplying now! Please practice math facts up to 5 x 5 with your student!

In Literacy and Social Studies, we have been looking at folk tales from our 4 countries, and identifying the 5 W’s - who, what, where, when, why? And of course, how! By the end of the month we will be writing our own folk tales and including important morals. Plus, we’ll be sharing some at our assembly on February 28th!
