We are feeling thankful for a week of lovely weather! It’s great
seeing the kids outside, breathing fresh air, and playing with their friends. We also had a fantastic first CAD day!
In Math, we did a quiz at the beginning of the week, and continued
to work on skip counting strategies. We have a quiz and test next week, and
then move into more multiplication. Please practice your skip counting facts
over the weekend.
In Literacy, we worked with our reading groups, got to write down
a fairy tale we knew best, and also worked with our sight words in a variety of
ways. On Friday, we did a reading test called Dibels. Looking forward to doing
more folktale work next week.
In Science, we started our Hearing and Sound Centers! It’s a lot
of fun getting our hands on tools that make so many interesting noises. Check
out this fun sound website: https://www.incredibox.com/demo/!
For families who ordered Scholastic, thank you so much!! Your
commitment to reading has resulted in almost $300 of resources for the grade 3
team this year!
Sandstone MacEwan Community Association has
been collecting used skates for kids in the community who cannot afford to
skate. If you are a family who would like to receive or who would like to
donate skates, please contact info@sandstomemacewan.com. As well, if you are interested, there is a family
willing to do some sharpening and some intro lessons! What a great opportunity!
