End of January Update

Dear 3A Families,

There has been some concern about the coronavirus circulating because of recent news. The CBE has released the following letter in response: Coronavirus CBE Letter

This week we continued with Guided Reading and started writing our own folktales! Your students have some very creative imaginations! I can’t wait to read the final products.

In Math, we finished up our Multiplication skip counting, and have now moved onto other Multiplication strategies, like doubling and using brackets. You can have your child practice multiplying online with this fun game from ABCya! Gobble Squabble

 

We are quickly approaching Valentine’s Day. In preparation, we have been reading books about kindness and friendship with our buddies. We have also been making booklets about “How To Be Kind”. For Valentine’s week, our class will each be decorating a paper heart, and will have all our classmates sign it on February 12th.

February 10th-12th is skating week! We are looking for some parent volunteers to help students put on, and take off their skates! Our class in particular is skating before lunch on Tuesday, February 11th, and after recess on Wednesday, February 12th. If you are available to help during any of these days, please contact Ms. Latham at ajlatham@cbe.ab.ca as soon as possible! 

 

On Friday, February 7th, we will be saying farewell to our wonderful student teacher Miss May. She has been a kind and caring addition to our class and we wish her success in the future!

Feb 28 - Grade 3 Assembly in the gym from 12:15-1:30pm.
